๐๏ธ About Linux Instances
Instances are computing units that provide you with resources to run your applications/workloads. Linux Instances are virtual machines that run the images of Linux Operating Systems, for example, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky, Oracle, Debian, etc.
๐๏ธ Creating Linux Instances
Before creating a Linux instance, it is important to plan the architecture, networking and access to the Linux Instances.
๐๏ธ Connecting to a Linux Instance
You can connect to Linux Instances via SSH sessions using passwords (less secure) orย SSH key pairs (most secure)
๐๏ธ Viewing Details of Linux Instances
To view the below details, navigate to a Linux Instance from Linux Instances screen, and access theย Overview tab.
๐๏ธ Viewing Graphs and Utilization of Linux Instances
Graphs and Utilisation for Linux instances helps monitor real-time performance and analyse resource usage. It provides insights into key metrics like CPU, memory, network, and disk activity, enabling better monitoring and troubleshooting.
๐๏ธ Configuring Alerts on Linux Instances
Alerts get triggered whenever a configured condition is met. You can create multiple alerts on an instance. Alerts are sent to recipients that you can define and manage.
๐๏ธ Volume Management with Linux Instances
From Linux Instances Screen, navigate into a Linux Instance, and access theย Volumes tab to see the disks attached to this Instance.
๐๏ธ Networking Management with Linux Instances
This section explains how to manage the network settings of your Linux instances. You can add a network to connect an instance to a virtual network and assign secondary IP addresses to enable multiple network connections on the same instance. This helps you configure and manage your networking requirements more efficiently.
๐๏ธ Working with Linux Restore Points
Instance Restore Points allow you to create point-in-time copies of an Instance that preserve all attached data volumes and, optionally, the CPU and memory state. These restore points can be used to quickly restore the Instance to the exact state it was in when the recovery point was created.
๐๏ธ Reconfiguring Linux Instances
To access theย Reconfigure tab and to view available reconfiguration options, navigate to a Linux Instance from Linux Instances Screen.
๐๏ธ Protecting Linux Instances
Enabling protection ensures that all instances are protected while all the threats are tracked.
๐๏ธ Linux Instance Operations
To view all available Instance operations, navigate to Compute > Linux Instances, click the Linux Instance Name, and access theย Operations tab.
